Company History
Our original self storage company Bison Self Store, began trading in July 2006 with the ideal to establish clean, friendly, hassle free and secure storage facilities for customers in and around the Leyland area.
In September 2008, we decided that before we expanded our self storage company further, that it would be the right time to rebrand the company name, logo and colours. We decided that we wanted a name and brand that would grow with us as a self storage business, and although Bison Self Store was relevant when our only site was on Bison Place in Leyland, we feel the time is right to refresh the brand before further imminent expansion, and so, Red Rose Self Storage is born. We hope that the philosophy to keeping storage simple, yet friendly will continue on through Red Rose Self Storage in the same way that was achieved as Bison Self Store.
These new changes have been introduced to hopefully encourage the brand to grow further within Lancashire and we hope that the fresh new name, branding and logo’s of Red Rose Self Storage will help our company to flourish further. We must stress that the company rebranding is the only thing that is changing, we are still the same team, management and owners that nurtured Bison Self Store and now Red Rose Self Storage to what it is today, something of which we are very proud of.
Our Philosophy to Self Storage
Storage by its very nature is a simple idea. Customers pay their money to rent a unit for a period of time – there’s nothing else to it and Red Rose Self Storage believe strongly in keeping this process as simple as possible. This is why we are aiming to become the company that loves to say NO. No admin fee, No access charge, No VAT, No deposit, No notice period, No minimum rental and No service charge – put simply No hidden charges. The weekly rental fee for your unit is all we charge.

Our friendly and professional but also relaxed approach, enables customers to pop into the offices and we know each and every customer’s name. Basically we like to treat our customers in the same way that we would like to be treated. Even if you want to drive straight in and out, you will be greeted with a smile and a wave. Our friendly approach to customer service is something which makes us stand out amongst our competitors and we will always go out of our way to ensure the customer receives the best treatment.
We believe strongly in holding the freehold to our properties so that we are not dependent on landlords and other companies. This is a business model we will continue on with all future sites, so you can rest assured that you are storing your goods in safe hands.
Future Sites
It is with our philosophy that we hope to grow the company even further, something that we believe is already bringing much success and satisfaction from our customers. The second Red Rose Self Storage opened in April 2008 in Chorley, and with the pleasing growth we’ve seen here and with our recent refreshing changes, don’t be surprised to see other Red Rose Self Storage sites blossoming across Lancashire in 2009 and beyond!
